Piloted Electric Air Racing

The FlyOnE Sky-E Race is a new format of aerial racing never before seen on this planet of Earth. FlyOnE is leading the charge in piloted electric air racing with the introduction of an all-new race format using the latest certified electric aircraft, the Pipistrel Electro.

Teams

Race teams will consist of Two Pilots, one Male, one Female and a team figure head (manager, mascot or public figure). There are no limit to how many teams can register. Team members will need to be minimum 100 hour Pilots, with a minimum of 10 hours in the Pipistrel ALPHA of VELIS Electro.

Race Format

The FlyOnE Sky-E race presents an all-new race format.Teams will compete on a course with multiple turn gates and height gates, testing the the Team on their capabilities, not only in strategy, weather analysis and charge cycle management, but maximising the efficiency by handling the aircraft aero-dynamically well. The Race will consist of 3 rounds, 3 heats per round. Each round will be completed within a 2 week period (as set by the organisers) with the intended flight date nominated and submitted by the teams prior to the commencement of this period. The heats must be completed within a 12 hour window on the nominated date. Only heats completed on the nominated date will be counted in the Rounds points accrual.

Competition format

The GPS track of the heats from each round are ananlysed by the adjudicator and if found to breach the course parameters, the heat will be struck out as a disqualification and no points will count from that heat. The points from all non-disquilified heats are totalled for each Round, for a total points accumulation for the team for the Round, to be released at the end of the 2 week period allocated for the Round. The team with the highest points score after the final round will be the series winner for that season. Each heat will be recorded by on board GPS for careful comparison to the course track. Each heat will have a wing camera, in cabin POV camera and rear facing in cabin camera (dash POV showing Pilots).
